Hannah Senesh
1921 - 1944
Jewish soldier and poet, born in Hungary and immigrated to pre-State Israel. During WWII Senesh volunteered for the British Army as a parachutist. While crossing the border into Hungary, Senesh was captured by Hungarian forces. She was tortured, yet she did not share information of her mission, and was executed.
