Rav Yisrael Meir Lau
1937 -
Yisrael Meir Lau served as the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, Israel, and chairman of Yad Vashem. He previously served as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel . One of the youngest survivors of Buchenwald, Rabbi Lau was just eight years old when the camp was liberated. He is a part of a familial 1,000-year unbroken chain of rabbis.
