Septuagint
-246
70 Rabbanim were forced to translate the Torah into Greek. This was the first time the Torah was translated into another language. Miraculously the rabbanim all made the same alterations to the text, to avoid accusations of heresry, without consulting with one another. This alteration to biblical text ultimately had a negative influence as it simplified the Torah's meaning and presented an opportunity for anyone to interpret the Torah without adequate understanding.
