Limmud is a Co-ed, experiential, 9-month study and Israel immersion program for the Southern Hemisphere. The program aims to develop 5 circles of “identity” including: Jewish, Zionist, Spiritual, Communal & Personal. Within this framework, participants spend time at Yeshiva/Midrasha, and experience Israel with a wide array of activities and educational modules, as well as a meaningful journey to Poland. Limmud culminates with a 3-month collaborative with our Mechina Olamit, together with Israelis, and participants from the Northern Hemisphere.
Shalom!
The start of Limmud 2022 has been amazing!
All the chanichim arrived safe and sound at Kibbutz Ayelet Hashachar. Quarantine was quick and by Thursday morning they were all on their Taglit buses heading out for their first day of programming and loads of fun.
They hiked in the upper Galil, went ATVing, and saw beautiful views of the northern part of Israel.
Today they are spending the day in Tzfat, the birthplace of the Kabbalah. They are touring around the city guided by their tour guides and then guided by themselves, getting to explore through Taglit's program "Tzfat Your Way". They receive a map and instructions taking them around the city on their own. They will then head back to Ayelet Hashachar and get ready for Shabbat.
Shabbat will focus on creating a great group dynamic, talking about their goals for the year ahead and their expectations. Limmud will also start to discuss the topic of Jewish identity, what it means to them on a personal level, and its importance on a greater scale. The group will be joined by Ilan Oz (Director of Camp Amichai & Director of Tirat Yosef Beit Bnei Akiva) and Royi Bercovici (Head of the Hachshara department), and they will give sessions and shiurim to the group as well as discuss in depth the topics previously mentioned.
