Two family groups of high school grads from 8 different countries have just begun their journey of discovery, personal development, independence, and adventure in Israel!
Stay tuned to this blog as we follow them around Israel as they forge their paths with Kivun!
Kivun is a Co-ed, experiential, 9-month Israel immersion program for the Northern Hemisphere, focusing on personal development, independent living and Jewish growth. Participants live in apartments in Jerusalem, where together with friends they learn about themselves, Judaism and Zionism through an incredible array of experiences such as Kibbutz, Volunteering, Seminars, Professional Internship, Magen David Adom, and IDF experience.
Shalom!
The past two weeks have been busy and exciting for the group. Participants are enjoying their daily routines of Internships/MDA/Yeshiva and Midrasha, gaining independence with their domestic responsibilities and improving their Hebrew in the Ulpan classes.
Last Thursday the group was part of the First Annual World Zionist Conference on Informal Education and Leadership. The participants proudly represented Religious Zionism amongst other youth movement participants around the world. During the day they participated in different lectures about fighting antisemitism and about the importance of the youth movements in representing Zionism around the world. At the end of the day, they had the opportunity to watch an incredible and mind-blowing performance by the Master Mentalist Lior Suchard.
On Sunday participants had the chance to attend a basketball game in support of Zichron Menachem (an organization that supports children with terminal illness). It was exciting to be part of such an authentic Jerusalem experience, cheering for Hapoel Yerushalayim.
This week's seminar day was about Israeli politics, After the lecture with our Israel educator, Matthew Lipman, we had an educational tour focusing on the three (major) religions in Jerusalem.
This Shabbat the group will have a new experience, joining the Bnei Akiva community in Modiin. Participants will be hosted by families from the community and will do the meals together with the youth. This is going to be a unique opportunity for them to meet Israeli youth around their age, and to have an authentic Bnei Akiva Israel experience!
In addition, We are very excited to announce the new season for World Bnei Akiva: Kivun!
Registration for Kivun 2022/3 - 5783 opens October 7th, 2021
