SWEDEN
Bnei Akiva has been active in Sweden since the early 1950s. Today there are Bnei Akiva activities in Stockholm, Gothenburg and in Malmö.
They have activities and camps for their chanichim, including the three main camps BASA (summer camp for chanichim from all over Scandinavia), BAVA (winter camp that takes place in Israel), and Machane Tikva (a successful camp during the autumn). They also run hadracha seminars to train their madrichim.
Throughout the years, many of the bogrim from Sweden have made Aliyah, which is one of the goals of Bnei Akiva. Bnei Akiva fulfills a very important role in Sweden. They are the main Jewish youth organization that strengthens the Jewish identity among young people in Sweden and increases their knowledge about Judaism.
World Bnei Akiva contact person for Sweden is Sari Mayer.
